In India, the plant is called bathua and is found abundantly in the winter season.

If you grow them in lush soils and great conditions you will get great crops, but even in crappy conditions this fella still produces worthwhile harvests.

Its nutritious value has been known for ages. Napoleon Bonaparte is said to have once relied on bathua seeds to feed his troops during lean times

50 Seeds per packet.

Bathua also known as Cheel Bhaji or Chandan Bathua, is a leafy vegetable seasonal to winter months.

It is a close relative of spinach and is prepared almost the same way.  Common names are Chenopodium lamb’s quarters, Melde, goosefoot and fat-hen and pigweed.

It doesn’t need anything except a bit of water now and then, and the deep tap root helps break up the soil allowing moisture penetration for surrounding plants.

Bathua saag, Bathua ka Raita and paranthas are some of their preparations. This plant is waxier and carries an earthy flavour.
