Branches, leaves, and stems are tinted purple. The large flowers are followed by circular, warty fruits that dry and pop open to expel seeds. Its upward-facing flowers bloom all summer and easily thrive in drought once established. All parts of this plant are extremely toxic and should not be ingested in any form. Ingestion of a single leaf can have severe side effects.

Black Datura Plant Growing and Care
- Sunlight Requirement: Dhatura does best in full sunlight.
- Sowing: Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep indoors around mid-March.
- Germination time: Before sowing soaks the seeds in warm water for 24 hours. Germination time is 6-10 days.
- Soil: Moist, rich, well-drained soil.
- Watering: Datura plants will benefit from extra water during the growing season. The soil should stay moist.
