The red okra did just as well, if not better, than the Clemson. Clemson okra always gives a lot, but the burgundy kind doesn’t give as much for me. I’m happy I gave this variety a try!

Red okra is now my top pick! The plants grow fast, healthy, and give a lot. The taste is milder compared to Clemson, and I noticed it’s less slimy. Germination rate was 100%.

Simple to grow, it was the earliest among all my okra and the most productive in containers.

Last summer, I tried growing red okra, and it was amazing. We had a hot summer with not much rain, but it did really well. It stayed tender even though some pods got big. Can’t wait to grow it again next year.

I started early in the summer, and I was harvesting enough okra to enjoy a couple of times a week until the end of November. The ones I planted at my grandma’s did even better because they had more space between plants.
