Growing and Caring for Cosmos
- Sow Cosmos Orange seeds directly into the soil after the last frost date in your area. Seeds can also be started indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost date and then transplanted outside once the soil has warmed up.
- Cosmos Orange seeds prefer well-draining soil with a neutral to slightly acidic pH (6.0-7.0). Adding compost or organic matter to the soil can help improve its structure and fertility.
- Cosmos Orange plants need full sun to thrive, so choose a spot in your garden that receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day.
- Cosmos Orange seeds should be watered deeply once or twice a week, depending on the weather conditions. Be careful not to overwater, as this can lead to root rot.
- Cosmos Orange plants don’t require a lot of fertilizer, but a balanced, all-purpose fertilizer can be applied once or twice during the growing season to promote healthy growth and blooming.
- To encourage continued blooming, deadhead (remove) spent flowers regularly. This will also prevent the plant from going to seed too quickly.
