An old Amish heirloom believed to originate from the Brandywine Creek region of Pennsylvania. Introduced to the commercial seed trade in the late 1800s, though the yellow version took time to become popular. This open-pollinated variety is a color mutation of the classic Brandywine.

Its low acid, sugary flavor is rich, creamy, and remarkably intense for such a large tomato. The flesh inside is a deep golden hued yellow, meaty, and fragrant with a heirloom tang.
